On September 27th, 2011, the Port of Newport was presented with the project of the year award by the Oregon Economic Development Association. DAY was greatly recognized at this ceremony and was told to share the award with the Port.

Fort Vancouver Community Library Completed

The Opening Ceremony for the newly constructed Fort Vancouver Community Library was held on July 17th.  After many years of planning and nearly two years to build, the construction of this five-level, 83,000 square foot, $38 million building is complete.  DAY CPM was proud to serve as Owner’s Representative for this amazing project.


 

Certificate of Occupancy ANNOUNCEMENT!

 NOAA Marine Operations Center - Pacific - Newport, OR

Mark McConnell, Mayor of Newport, Oregon stated the following upon getting the news that the NOAA MOC-P facility had received the Certificate of Occupancy:   “Joshua--Thanks for your dedication and energy on this job.  Day CPM was the key to making it all come together at lightning speed!!”   


 

Joshua Dodson of DAY CPM played the role of Owner Representative and Program/Project Manager for the Port of Newport on the new $44M NOAA Marine Operations Center- Pacific homeport project. The new facility occupies more than five acres near the existing NOAA Barry Fisher Building and the OSU Hatfield Marine Science Center, located on South Beach (the southern portion of Yaquina Bay) in Newport.  The NOAA Marine Operations Center - Pacific facility includes a two-story administrative office building; a ware-house, guard station, hazardous materials storage building, a 1300’ long wharf facility accommodating up to 6 ocean-going NOAA research ships and a small boat dock.  This project was delivered five days ahead of schedule and was under budget.

The NOAA fisheries service vessel Bell M. Shimada arrived at her new homeport in Newport, Oregon on Friday, June 17, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. She is the first of the NOAA fleet to tie up at the new Marine Operations Center - Pacific pier. South Medford High School

 

The new 260,000 sf "green field" SouthMedford High School is now complete with the facility opening on September 7th for students. This new High school features many of the new technologies that are available today with wireless networking throughout the school, Smart board technology in the classroom to enhance the teacher's tools for educating students, and the use of natural light in every classroom and teaching station throughout the campus.

  

DAY CPM played an integral role in the successful delivery of this project meeting the objective of the District for its Ed program, and being under budget and ahead of schedule. This $80 million project was delivered and managed by DAY CPM from early design through project commissioning and closeout as the overall Owner Representative and Project Manager.
