Accomplishment
Interstate Maintenance Facility Rehab Project
Portland, Oregon
The Interstate Maintenance Facility is comprised of the bureau’s operations, maintenance and construction divisions and provides all the support services required to maintain, operate and expand the City of Portland’s potable water delivery system at a central location. The existing facility incorporates several single and multiple use structures of varying size and age and accommodates approximately 300 staff.
Based on a recently completed master plan, this project will rebuild and modernize most of the structures providing a much more open and efficient use of the site. The new development will be designed to meet LEED Gold certification and will provide space for staff offices and public meeting areas; an emergency operations center; shops and stores; fleet maintenance garage; fueling station; a multi-floor parking garage for visitors, staff and fleet vehicles and lay-down & open storage areas. In order to keep the IMF fully operational throughout construction, logistics planning will be required for multiple staff and equipment moves.
Services
DAY CPM Services has been awarded the contract to provide complete Owner representation and will serve as the project liaison between the design team and contractor in partnership with the Owner throughout this multi-phased project. Work scope includes programming; contract development and management for the design consultants and construction manager / general contractor (CM/GC); design review; budget and schedule management; public outreach, permitting; quality assurance and construction oversight. DAY will also provide logistics planning for uninterrupted operations and staff’s interim move/relocation phasing into temporary, on-site offices for this essential and secure facility.
