Hillsboro School District
Prior to forming DAY CPM, Principal Mike Day served as CM/GC and Project Manager for three new schools: Century High School, Patterson Elementary, and Orenco Elementary. In addition to building classrooms and administrative offices, each school featured free-span gymnasiums, high-tech multimedia centers, full-service kitchens, and cafeterias. Century High School also included a 1,000 seat auditorium, science laboratories, and athletic fields.
Construction Administration Services on behalf of Mahlum Architects on schools for the Hillsboro School District included: on-site observation, shop drawing review, responses to design questions, field reports, review of payment applications, cost proposal for change orders, and complete close out documentation review of operation and maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, and warranties for compliance with the Contract Documents.
The services provided to the A/E team and the Hillsboro School District were assurances in quality control through the construction phase to the end product and adherence to the contract requirements by all parties. Each of these five projects implemented the CM/GC Alternate Method of Contracting, due to their complexity, and necessary budget and schedule control.
